AIM newcomer, Kefi Minerals, released a wide ranging update on exploration activities in Turkey where the company is hunting for large copper-gold systems.

At its Derinin Tepe licence in the Balekisir Province in Western Anatolia, Turkey, Kefi said it would conduct a 600 metre drilling program and complete 40 trenches. The results from trenching are expected in June, while the drilling will commence in July. Kefi will be testing a northwest trending low-sulphidation epithermal gold prospect in quartz veins that had been previously reported by earlier exploration and historical workings on the site.

Meanwhile at the company's Muratdag licence, also located in Western Anatolia, Kefi have commenced a mapping and soil sampling program which will be testing for evidence of Carlin style gold deposits and nickel laterite. A similar first pass exploration program has also commenced at the Meyvali Prospect, located 10km east of Derinin Tepe.

"Our exploration team is rapidly advancing the Derinin Tepe prospect towards the Company's first drilling program." added Managing Director, Jeff Rayner, "In addition to systematically progressing exploration on current prospects, our geologists are continuing to evaluate properties identified by the Company's proprietary database for potential acquisition. We look forward to further updating the market in due course."
